When someone calls in poker, the player is essentially agreeing to match the current bet. This means that they are willing to put up money equal to what has been bet already—or raise if they choose—in order to stay in the hand and see all of its cards reveal themselves. After a player calls, it’s then up to other players at the table whether or not they want to call as well or fold their hands.
