Cold calling in law school is when the professor randomly calls on a student to answer a question during class. It can be intimidating for some students, but it’s important to remember that cold calling serves an educational purpose. By forcing students to think on their feet and articulate their thoughts quickly it helps them become better critical thinkers and communicators. Cold calling also allows the professor to evaluate how well everyone is understanding the material being presented.
