Cold calling laws pertaining to real estate are complex and vary by state. Generally speaking, an agent must have a valid reason for making contact with a prospective client before they attempt to do so. For example, they may need to prove that the person is already in the market for a home or has recently moved into the area. Additionally, all calls must be made during appropriate times of day and agents cannot use cold-calling tactics such as auto-dialing or sending unsolicited texts.
