Cold calling in poker is a term used to describe the action of calling a bet without having previously raised. This strategy can be very effective when done correctly, as it allows you to get involved in pots that you may otherwise have missed out on if you had just folded pre-flop. It also has the potential to win big pots by catching an opponent off guard and forcing them into making mistakes.
