The UK recently imposed a cold call ban on companies to help protect vulnerable people from being targeted by fraudulent or misleading practices. This law, which took effect in June 2019, states that any company wishing to contact someone via phone must make sure they have given explicit permission first. The purpose is to prevent companies from calling individuals who have not consented and taking advantage of them financially.
